The European Crypto Initiative is delighted to invite you to the next series of workshops - this time in Bogotá, Colombia!
The topic of the workshop is The effect of global regulation on crypto.
You can find the agenda here.
In the past few years, we have seen an increase in regulatory activities by governments worldwide:
The EU is working on regulations that will change the landscape for crypto-asset service providers and crypto assets in Europe and beyond. We have seen decisive enforcement actions by the U.S. authorities towards crypto (Tornado Cash case). Last month the U.S. released a crypto regulation framework.
At the same time, international organisations like the IOSCO, OECD, FSB and FATF will soon release new reports and positions on DeFi. What influence do those organisations have on national regulation and the future of DeFi worldwide? Who are the members of those international organisations, and how much are the South American countries represented? These are some of the questions that will be covered during the workshops. We will also explore the effect regulation will have on the design of protocols, DAOs, DeFi, and other web3-related (d)apps as laws become more precise and specifically address the crypto industry.
When? October 8-9, 2022.
Venue: Hotel NH Collection Bogotá TELEPORT Royal (Address : Cl. 113 #7 - 65, Bogotá, Colombia)
Please find enclosed the invitation.
If you can’t make it to our workshops, but you are coming to Devcon VI, we would like to invite you to our talk on Wednesday, October 12, at 2.00 pm. The topic is The influence of crypto regulations on open blockchains: opportunities and challenges.
We’ll be at the Regenerative Hub on October 12th and 14th at 2pm at the Devcon venue. The EUCI team will facilitate a workshop and discussion on regulations and its impact on the design of crypto products and systems. We’ll work together to find proactive and reactive solutions to specific regulations. First we’ll focus on how to implement and best adjust to the existing laws and second how to create opportunities for dialogues between regulators and the community.
