Dear EUCI supporters,
We are pleased to share with you EUCI’s yearly accomplishments. It has been a challenging year, but thanks to your support and the hard work of our team, we have been able to achieve some significant milestones. In this overview, you will find a summary of our key achievements over the past year.
Regulatory activity → We worked on MiCA & the TFR; the AML package - the AMLR in particular; the kick-off of the DLT Pilot Regime; the crypto transactions reporting for taxation purposes in DAC8; the new, software-focused version of the Product Liability Directive, and the proposed Cyber Resilience Act;
Meetings with Regulators → We had meetings with regulators within the EU institutions and regulators from 7 countries (Greece, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Slovenia, Croatia and France);
EUCI Workshops → We organised 6 workshops, with topics ranging from regulating (and defining) DeFi & NFTs, designing compliant smart contracts and finding the balance between blockchain, AML and privacy;
Annual Events Recap → We participated in 11 panel discussions (including The DAOist GGG 2022, with 149 viewers on Youtube); BlockSplit, with 500 reported on-site attendees; Crypto Valley Conference, with 1200 reported on-site attendees; EU Blockchain Observatory and Forum; Adan's Crypto & Finance Forum 2022, with min 200 attendees; Ethereum Community Conference; BlackSeaChain, with 115 viewers on Youtube; World Future Verse Conference, with more than 1,000 attendees on-site and online; Solana Breakpoint, with 347 viewers on Youtube; Blockchain Association Policy Summit, with hundreds of attendees on-site; DEGF High-Level Workshop; 2 public talks (at EF Devconnect Week, and Devcon Bogota; and 1 episode of the “Law of Code” podcast. We moderated sessions at 3 events (ETHBarcelona, with 4,000 attendees; Berlin Blockchain Week; and Blockchain for Europe Summit 2022; co-organised The Reg3Conference (with 82 participants to our workshops and 415 participants to our 10 panel discussions), and organised our first-anniversary conference in Brussels, The Future of Crypto-Assets in Europe and beyond (with 157 on-site participants from 114 organisations).
EUCI members → Existing EUCI members: Interchain foundation, Gnosis, MakerDAO, we have added Bain Capital Crypto, and Hedera and are finalising Near as new members. We are discussing with a few other companies to join us and a few specifically as governance members (Maker DAO).
Social Media Highlights → We currently have 2,227 Followers in Twitter, and 1,104 followers on LinkedIn, while our newsletters reach 94 subscribers. We saw a weekly 17,35% increase in our organic followers on LinkedIn and a weekly 1,75% increase on Twitter, while our estimated growth is 1,25% weekly. Our email newsletters have an average open rate of 51.58%, which indicates the number of people who opened and read our updates. The click-to-open rate for our first email newsletter was 22,86% (considering that the average across all industries and regions is about 17.5%);
EUCI in the media (non-exhaustive list of mentions) → we were mentioned in 17 publications, including Bloomberg, Reuters, Politico, Decrypt, Cointelegraph, Bitcoin Magazine, Coin Desk, Yahoo Finance, Tax Notes, Zero Hedge, Cryptonews, and The Block.
